Geneva and Greece: Global Ethics and Refugee Policy, Summer 2017

Geneva, Switzerland and Thessaloniki, Greece (Refugee Camp)

Meetings in Geneva will be held for one week at the Graduate Institute, Geneva, the oldest international relations institute in the world, and will include briefings with the ICRC, United Nations, United Nations High Commission for Refugees, International Organization for Migrants, and the World Health Organization.

Following Geneva, students will spend ten days Thessalonoki, Greece. This part of the seminar featured service-learning, site visits, and lectures from organizations providing on-the-ground aid, plus meetings with academics, journalists, and government officials will be held in the evenings.

Lectures and meetings in Geneva are organized in collaboration with Dr. Hugo Slim, Head of Global Policy for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Meetings will include briefings with the ICRC, United Nations, United Nations High Commission for Refugees, International Organization for Migrants, and the World Health Organization. Dr. Cheyney Ryan and Dr. David Rodin, Fellows of the Oxford Institute for Ethics, Law and Armed Conflict, will also lecture and participate in these meetings.
